I definitely meant to do so much more than watch Netflix and Hulu this weekend, but life has a funny way of interrupting your plans. Here's a factoid about my weekend: It was actually my own precious procrastination that ruined my all-weekend study session and turned my 22 hour block study sheet (with room for sleep and fun) into a nine hour cramming session. Boo.
My derailed weekend has turned out to be quite successful, though. Throughout the flash-flood warnings in my area, the lightning that never let a respectable human being sleep, and the Hulu and Netflix bingeing, I have found freedom from my constant weariness. My brain found a 24 hour time period to catch up with itself and the craziness of this past week. My fears of failure and testing faded away. The hours I wasn't catching up on sleep or T.V. shows, I was vigorously writing, reading, laughing with friends, and studying. Productivity can indeed be found by those with little motivation. Sometimes all it takes is a few hours off the rails.
Fact: It is now Sunday night and I would pay any amount of money right now for an angel food cake and a masseuse. Unfortunately for me, I am a partially broke college student who already ate some pizza and donuts. So, as my bank account screams from beyond the veil of my phone screen and my food baby kicks in my stomach, I decide to make the adult decision in this procrastination situation. I walk over to the freezer and pick out my black cherry chocolate chunk Graeter's ice cream. Ice cream is always a good middle ground, right? Opening up my Spanish notebook, I hunker down on the couch for a long night of studying. Yo necesito estudiar mucho para el examen.
